Who We Are

Southcoast Counseling Associates is a group of experienced Mental Health professionals who have been offering counseling services in a private practice setting since 2002. As a multidisciplinary group, we have several years of experience providing mental health services in both community and private practice settings.

We provide counseling services to seniors, adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples with a wide range of concerns, including, but not limited to: feeling overwhelmed or stressed, depressed feelings, panic or anxiety, grief and loss, strained relationships or family conflict, current or past trauma recovery, substance abuse or dependence, adjusting to life situations or entering into new phases of life, and more.

• All of the therapists are providers for all major insurance companies and HMO's.
• We serve people with Medicaid and Medicare and offer an alternative to being treated in larger, less personal community mental health settings.
• We can usually offer appointments within two weeks from the date someone calls seeking services.
• We do all we can to accommodate those who may need to be seen urgently.
• We have a history of working collaboratively with Psychiatrists and Physicians to ensure that our patients receive well coordinated quality care.

We are conveniently located in the West end of New Bedford just one block from St. Luke's Hospital off of Hawthorn Street. We are on several area bus routes.

From Fall River and 195 East: From Fall River, Massachusetts, take 1-195 East to SR-140 South 12.7 miles. Turn left onto US-6 I Kempton St 0.5 miles. Turn right onto Rockdale Ave 0.6 mile. Turn left onto Ryan St 0.3 mile. Turn right onto Brigham Street. Arrive at 52 Brigham St on the left. The last intersection is Ryan St. If you reach Elizabeth St, you've gone too far.

From Wareham and 195 West: From Wareham, Massachusetts, take 1-195 West and SR-18 South to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hwy 17.8 miles. Take ramp right 0.1 mile. Keep straight onto School St 0.3 mile. Turn left onto County St 0.4 mile. Turn right onto Allen St. 0.7 mile. Turn right onto Brigham St 0.1 mile. Arrive at 52 Brigham St on the right. The last intersection is Elizabeth St. If you reach Ryan St, you've gone too far.
